Year 5 Kestrels welcomed some of the Year 2 Toucans class children into the classroom to hear them read and read to them.
What a lovely opportunity to share our favourite books.
Stories like these were read:
Billionaire Boy
That’s not funny
Silly Billy
Mouse Soup
Skeleton Key
The tunnel
The owl and the pussycat
Willy and Huge
Mermaid Magic
Goosebumps and lots more!
Please take a look at all the hard work Year 5 put in to their book day costumes. It was so nice to see such a range of books and characters.
Well done to Jacob for winning best Year 5 blurb for ‘Shadow of the Minotaur’.
A big thank you to Year 3 who visited us this morning to read with our class. It was lovely to see so many children happily getting the others involved with their book.
Year 5 were very enthusiastic and read with all the right voices for different characters to really get the Year 3’s interested.
This would be a lovely thing to do regularly.
Year 5 have worked so hard on our pages for the school book. They have either written, found facts or pictures for our classes pages. It looks amazing! I can’t wait until we can buy the book. Ask the children how good it looks, we have seen the pages ourselves and done the last bit of editing.
Friday, it was great seeing all the children dressed in their favorite book characters. Well done to the children who also brought in the books their character belonged to. Never before have I seen the Joker in the same room as Matilda!
Enjoy the photos guys! Why not leave a comment about what you liked about world book day.
